Garner is a town in North Carolina located approximately 8 miles south of Raleigh. The population of the town is over 25,000, and seening a lot of residential and commercial grown in real estate due to its proximity to Raleigh and Research Triangle Part. Garner has many people moving to and relocating to the town for its ammenities, shools, variety of housing options and recreational opportunities. Garner has so many wonderful attributes maintaining that small town feel with uptown access to to everything Raleigh and RTP.
DEMOGRAPHICS - As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 17,757 people. The racial makeup of the town was 67.02% White, 27.13% African American, 0.41% Native American, 1.11% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 2.77% from other races, and 1.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.75% of the population.
The median income for a household in the town was $47,380, and the median income for a family was $58,302. The per capita income for the town was $22,433. About 4.9% of families and 6.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.9% of those under age 18 and 10.1% of those age 65 or over.
